This is a BIG CURSE on the genuine passengers of Indian Railways. This has been happening since decades. The main issue is the NUISANCE VALUE. Floating passengers mingling with the bonafide passengers are of great concern. Another important point is that this poses a big SECURITY THREAT to the vulnerables. Passengers' articles and luggage become EASY TARGETS FOR STEALING. We all should call upon the Ministry of Railways to stop this practice and curtail the unauthorised intrusions completely, on an URGENT BASIS. more

Unauthorised hawkers and travelling is very common in Eastern UP and Bihar. The railway staff express inability to tackle them as they become violent. more

Security in trains is a very serious issue that is plaguing passengers. It is almost nil. Teh few personnel present are more interested in looking for ways of fleecing unauthorised passengers or looking for unauthorised goods (read liquor) so they can again fleece rather than look at security as an important issue. No regular rounds are done, did you check any security personnel doing rounds in trains after 12 PM. They themselves take a cosy berth and sleep. No doubt theft is very high in IR. Why can the cc TV be put in compartments. Further just like airports cant we stop ppl from seeing off relatives beyond the front gate except for differently able persons and senior citizens. This will reduce unauthorised persons on platform too and secure the plat form from all sides. more

Railway Police take bribe from Unauthorized hawkers and allow them to do business on railway stations and in Trains. Railway staff also know this. more
