GOVERNMENT as well as Municipal Corporations all across have a high cost but miserable performance record. They certainly can not measure up to the task. They should be made minority partner as 26% equity holders in a JV under PPP model where Sewerage and Solid Waste management is hived off by Governments allowing Private players. There is no dearth of technology and lifelong performing product systems.Tax payers money has been plundered in the past to reach a pathetic less than 30% processing of sewerage.Solid wastes are getting collected as such a frequency that natural decomposition of organics happens before they are collected/ delivered at dumpsites --mostly. more
