Seeds Purchase with Old Currency: Gaps
Extending a huge relief to the cash-strapped rural India, the government has now allowed farmers to buy seeds with old currency notes from any state or central government outlets and agri universities ahead of the harvesting season.
With this post we would like to seek your inputs on what are some of the ways in which this could be misused so we can alert the Government. Also, if you have inputs on what are the other ways in which through the farmers, black money hoarders could be converting money into white, please let us know.

This will certainly vitiate the basic purpose for which the country took pain for so long. One side they say that all their cash are depsoited in the co-operative banks if so, from where they get notes. As such this will derail the demonetisation process and dilute the objective. Govt may proceed as follows... 1. In rural areas where there are no bank's branches Govt should organise mobile banking. Where there are branches increase resources to serve the farmers promptly. 2. Ask farmers to get their co-operative bank pass book updated with their latest balance and the bank/mobile bank will issue equivalent amount and promptly Dr their account with the Co-op bank. 3. If they are coming out with notes ask them to depost in any of their accounts and will follow sl. no. 2. This will sort out the issue. Thanks more

Agriculture shops will not have methods to detect fake currency hence it is better to ask for Draft which could be given for no charges more

The only excuse for the farmers to buy seeds from specified sources in the states and central government besides the universities will be the quality of seeds and the guaranteed yield, which the farmers claim will be available only at private companies. more
