Seeking Advice for a Medicated Cosmetic Start-up Company
My family is looking into a ‘start-up’ Ayurvedic/Herbal Medicated Cosmetic Company and we are interested in finding out if there are any reputable Manufacturing Companies that offer ‘small batch’ [approx. 10 kg per month per product – 10 products] manufacturing while we test the market and our products saleability.
So far, all the Companies that we have approached are saying that the minimum quantity per product is 100 kilograms per month on a regular basis, and we have ten
products.
We have got that down to 50 kilograms per product with a company, but we have heard they might steal our formulas.
So, we are in a bind. We want to start this business, but we cannot afford to commence a business with such high quantities of products not knowing if we have a market for them as yet.
We are very confident in our products but lack the funds
to start our company at the level where we either have someone manufacture our products or establish a manufacturing plant ourselves.

Never outsource your manufacturing. Very soon, you may find that similar products have flooded the market. Best recourse is to start with own manufacturing setup with GOI support, then start marketing. Step-by step other products manufacturing / marketing should be started. Word of warning. Can give marketing to a good company, but never try outsource of manufacturing at the beginning. more
