Senior citizens and flying

I recently heard from someone about the distress their aged parent had to face at an airport as their flight got changed but they didn't get the information as their phone was not registered with the airline. Which led to great inconvenience for her. The airline's message went to a relative who at that moment could not attend to the call/message.
Senior citizens must also receive calls or messages from the airlines concerned on their respective phones. more

Yes, you are right. And the government should issue directives to all to sensitise all sectors with public dealing to make their treatment all-inclusive. I am in my 60s but have a bad knee and worry about getting on and off a train. I haven't been on a train for a long time more
Still it is a private airline nothing to do wit the government. more
That is because they cancelled the flight without even telling the senior citizen's son who had booked the floor ght. Forget telling the senior citizen who was travelling. The poor 80+ year-old lady went all the way to the airport where she was told her flight was cancelled more
While registering a complaint we shouldn't forget what we as passengers have missed. This happened to me as I was traveling with my friend to Bangalore. He booked the ticket up and down. My friend cancelled his trip and i alone traveled . The ticket had the departure time of onward train. But return ticket dep : row had indicated check the time. The train departure was advanced by one hour. Thinking that the time of departure id 14.20 , I reached the station at 13.40 . The train had already left at 13.20. When such tickets are booked, TRCTC should send alerts to the number of the passengers travelling also. more
Absolutely. These lacunae need to be addressed asap more
When the airlines don't have the phone number, how are they to send a message to the passenger? more
