As well as medical emergencies should be the norm in India. I suggest both the Minimum Fare based on distance involved etc can be fixed for all routes. Next the Maximum fare for these roots may also be specified either by Government or the Air lines themselves. The maximum fare canot exceed 3 times the minimum fare. some such checks and balances are provided things would be reasonable hassel free. more
In case of medical emergency, airlines must charge normal fare, otherwise it should be treated as exploitation. This type of passengers may not be more than 0.5% per flight. Airlines should keep such medical certificates with them for verification lateron. We should not forget that those who opt for air travel for medical treatment can pay any amount for fare. more
How will this be implemented? People will fake medical emergencies and deaths. more
Agree. Instead of looking for all kind of ways to support genuine travel for medical emergency or bereavement, the government should not allow crazy western world ideas such as surge prices! more
Innovative idea. On full capacity flights, yes. However, Delta airlines flies 40 passengers in 300 passenger capacity flight India to US flight. Can one-way fare be 300/40=750% of regular fare? Availability of cheaper, last-minute fares a criterion too. Environmental costs? What gives! more
Probably insurance to cover emergency travel may work. more
