Serious Aadhar Biometric issues

recent internal communication between UIDAI officials had pegged that around 1 to 1.5% of all enrolments made in the last seven years have “mixed biometrics” — around six to nine lakh Aadhaar numbers in Karnataka and around 1.3 to 1.9 crore all over India.

UIDAI has identified the numbers with mixed biometrics and has written letters to the affected to rectify the same. Most of them with the issue are from rural areas, hoping to avail several welfare benefits from the government.

According to sources, biometric data of family members and relatives were mixed up during the initial phases of enrolment when it was taken up in a campaign mode. “In order to meet targets, some enrolling agencies used biometrics of accompanying relatives if they were not able to register the biometric data of the person who was getting enrolled. Ramifications of this are emerging now as some people are facing problems to avail Aadhaar-linked essential services,” an officer said.

Such faulty biometric data is flagged only if there is a complaint. So until an Aadhaar holder faces problems while using the number to enrol for a service, the person is unlikely to know that his or her biometric is mixed. Sources in Centre for E-governance in Karnataka said on a monthly basis, about 450 complaints are being received regarding the biometrics.

Following several complaints regarding the same, UIDAI has identified such mixed biometric data, written letters to Aadhaar holders, and is organising camps across the country to rectify the errors, the officer said. The dates of such camps are being communicated only to those affected. more

I wish to bring to the notice of the local residents of Rajarajeshwari Nagar ward 160 that a new storm water drain built in Chandrashekar road opposite Union bank was broken by a bull dozer deliberately under someones order. I called the police who told me that the drain was being cleaned and so they were breaking it. The bridge was built just before elections with Mr Muniratna swearing that he will give up politics if that bridge was not completed before elections. He kept his promise partially as he was unable to break the encroachers on that storm water drain. The contrator has placed very strategic slabs which can easily be removed for cleaning purposes. Despite this the bridge has been bull dozed leaving the encroachers intact. . I called BBMP compaints 28601851who wanted me to talk to the engineer.. I called the number of the corporator of this area who did not pick up the phone. Now the bridge which has raised such a heavy bill is now broken and water will not flow as stone blocks are in the water way.. Is Mr Muniratna not interested in saving this bridge or are there some other motives to harass citizens after elections? Incidentally our road does not have a name plate my several complaints. while in every street the corporator and the MLA have put up placards with their phone nos which they never answer.. Huge amount of money must of have been spent also in those placards and also on park benches and bus stands proclaming thier name which serves no purpose . The traffic police are also not interested in protecting the safety of traffic as they are letting these politicians of RR Nagar to place huge placards of birthday greetings blocking the view of traffic at road junctions. My complaint to the traffic police has also gone down the drain. For change of address in AAAAadhar document . I tried twice, once with Chrome and once with Edge, and both resulted in transliteration error. Everytime I filled the changrd address correctly and all my Proff of address but everytime aadhar authorities reject the application on same ground that documents not self attested The rehection of is unfair. Some thing fishy and aadhar authorities reject the application saying documents are wrong and not self attested. I read somewhere that after 4 attempts or so, it will result in investigation. I visited Bellandur and Kadugodi post offices aa well as HDFC Bank office on Sarjapur Road. Everyone either doesn't work or wants to take a token early morning. . more
