Service Charge needs to be gotten rid of

Some of these restaurants owners are really dumb people who despite such strong consumer sentiment against service charge still want to levy it

https://www.localcircles.com/a/press/page/restaurant-service-charge-loot

And courts are clueless that they are telling restaurants to call it staff contribution instead of service charge.

Aree bhai aadha rishwatakhori mein use hota hai. Kaise use staff contribution bol den.

We all should just walk out or not go in restaurant that levied this charge. Apt lesson it will be. more

Failed to understand why to impose service charge by restaurant owners? We are already penalised in different ways. more
Make 'Service Charge' or 'staff contribution' to be optional, and leave it to customer's choice. more
Why force a service charge. We are already charged for all items considering raw materials, gas, electric, ac, labour, kitchen utility etc etc. Plus we are charged gst. On top of it. Why? more
The concept of service charge at a restaurant is absurd. This is like airlines charging for seats. Isnt service basic to dine-in restaurants? The courts seem to have not understood this basic principle. Will they itemise raw materials, labour, overheads in restaurant bills next? This has nothing to do with market economics. Its definitely not in customer interest. more
exactly , it is just like the remote on your hand. if you dont like it dont go....!!!free market place. more
