Servile Media of India

First of all excellent report in the circle which was also published in our local paper Deccan Herald here in Karnataka.

What is most amazing is how mainstream bational media has just become so servile to the Government and abandoned the citizens.

No where in Times of India Economic Times Indian express are we seeing stories telling the mood of citizens to Government because the mood is not good.

Same media when the rating was good was doing full
Page articles. No wonder so many people have stopped taking physical newspaper.

If media continues to suck up to the Govt soon more people will give up and then Editors can just be happy reading the newspaper they publish and then get fired one day because no one reads what they write.

Nonetheless we should keep raising these issues and LC i hope will escalate to Govt. Even better would be if we had leaders who became part of such circles and communities. more

In my opinion, the observations made in the post are not fully true. Though the proximity of the media with the ruling party or the government for various reasons is obvious, our media in present days are more conscious about the TRP rather than peoples' opinion of the government and its performance. Its the reason as to why any instances of social injustice/killing/rape etc., that too those related to the minoritie/down trodden etc. become front page headings of the print media and the breaking news of the electronic media to telecast 24 hours continuously. Secondly, the medias' priority during present days is to earn more and more revenues and therefore, the print as well as electronic media give priorities to the advertisements and their 60% to 80% space/time is being earmarked for ads. leaving little choice for he readers/viewers. more
Cases are filed against those who speak against the powers. Look at NDTV, Vinod Dua, Sujit Nair etc. more
One has to be a discriminating consumer of media, more so now than ever. Media does lot of propaganda in addition to providing some news. Read many papers especially those that strive to tell the truth and inform the citizens. Then may be a pick one or two of those outlets to read regularly. There is too much drama and hype on TV. more
I believe our media is compromised and we can do nothing about it, because of the power and money. Maybe the media have been black mailed, who knows. Although the Indian Express has good articles against and for the ruling party. Some people were booked for sedition wrongly by the Delhi police and only the courts were brave enough to waive this away. This is the era of Adharma and we have to wait till Kalyug is over for things to get better. more
Freedom Fighters Acted after due waiting. People must Act more
Majority of Tele Media and Print media is providing news from one or other political party angle. There is hardly any media who provide news from an impartial point of view. more
