Severe administrative apathy-Cogested lanes
It was after a long time I visited my relatives in Sec 37. I thought to take the by pass road.It was any way tough to make to that bypass. With so much congestion I slipped accidentally into one service lane . What a horrible experience.Rickshaws ,motorcycles and car were coming from both directions. By the time I was out my car had scratches all around. I wonder who is responsible for this mess.When I returned I thought to take the toll road. It was equally harrowing to reach the main road. I am bewildered but do not know whom to blame.I realized anything can happen during such a travel.Scratches though frustrating,as it would cost money appeared to be a much less a cost for having come out safe and without hurting anyone else more

Why I mentioned 2000 years is that Ghettos and congestion were a guarantee for minimum damage due to attacks from the ruling police or the revenue collectors. It kept the population under misery for all times and busy settling their petty quarrels born out of self created and self sustaining perpetuated confusion. The ruling machinery acted after the usual damage as the peacemaker and benevolent arbiter.Now we are no more under a mongol or pathan or turk or a savvy but equally develish english . Time to set our own standards more

Thanks for your views and observations.While hurry and police not acting are a reality problem is of being passive. It is not a police issue as much as it is administrative and hangs on, as it is, due to sheer negligence and lethargy. If a service lain is narrow,has hawkers on both sides protruding into the road,no space for pedestrians to walk ,motorcycles etc parked in that narrow service lane and traffic on from both sides what do you expect. And who to blame. I pay taxes so that people get serviced properly. I commit a mistake I am penalized wrongly or rightly depending on many factors( not relevant at this stage) but what is the penalty for those who design these roads,permit encroachments, have no regulatory mechanism after the first investment and seize to monitor changes taking place. How to make such authorities responsible and answerable is the only remedy. As citizens which includes such people who are part of us what to do in order to make our lives easy,safe and a pleasure to be in society which is shaping up on its own after 2000 years more

You will never find any Faridabad cop with a challan book. But they sure have at least six pockets in their uniform. more
