Shelf Life information should be mandatory
My wife recently ordered some cosmetics from a leading ecommerce portal only to find that only 3-4 months of shelf life was remaining on these cosmetics.
some months back it was discussed in localcircles to publish mfg and expiry dates visible on packaged food. same needs to be mandated by dept of consumer on other items with shelf life like toothpaste, lotions, etc.. more

I am in full agreement with those who support the regulation that all packed items whether they are consumables or toiletries or other items should have date of manufacturing and expiry date printed on the package so the customers is aware at the time of buying that item as within how many days he has to use that item. more

All food items, medicines and even the cosmetic products have manufacturing and expiry date. Still, many of us do not check the same while buying it and even if we know that the product expiry date is over, we still want to use it for one reason or the other. All these rules are there and we ourselves do not check, but we only give suggestions and advises without checking the facts ourselves. In every house, you will find many cosmetic products which would have expired and still be using it. more
