Shelf Life management for ecommerce groceries

I have faced several times that packaged limited shelf life (less than one month) must never be ordered using ecommerce sites and apps.

FSSAI doesnt seem to have any proper law for these products. Most of these products even if they have 60% shelf life left loose their taste and in many cases are being received in spoilt condition.

FSSAI's rule for ecommerce should be
1) If product has more than 1 month of total shelf life, it can only be sold on ecommerce if atleast 80% life is left.
2) If product has over 1 month of total shelf life then in that case it can be sold till 60% life is left.

Why ecommerce ,even sale , buy one get two or 50-80% discounted stuff at (Food stuff )supermarkets have less shelf life or already gone bad .You come home and 55find that it is bad or smelling, or tastes differently stale! more
Dear Ms JYOTHSNA, Pl read below, what has AMAZON wants to say on this; An Amazon spokesperson told ET, “We work with our sellers to ensure that our customers receive safe food products well within their indicated shelf lives. We train employees to check best-before dates while storing and packing food products at our fulfilment centres.” more
I think the FSSAI rule is that products must have at least 45 days residual shelf life for sale through on-line retail. The meaning of the date BEST BEFORE on a pack is that 'up to that date, the manufacturer assures the taste and safe consumption of the food". Very few packaged foods can be dispatched with 80% shelf life for various reasons. Customer may chose not to buy foods if they do not find the residual shelf life to their requirements. more
I personally feel that to be safe, packaged foods, specially, juices and other liquid items should never be ordered from online sites. more
FSSAI has prescribed SHELF LIFE for imported food. Therefore, therecan notbe any harm in such a move for ONLINE PRODUCTS more
