shortage of Public Toilets
We should stop making jokes and start working urgently with right spirits.
Delhi Metro is a big organisation with moto of public service. They have not established toilets in paid area except at 2 or 3 places through out the three states in NCR where they are operating at present though there are over 100 stations. It is common to spend over 1.5 hour during journey and passengers feel necessity of toilet use but facility is completely absent except as stated above. In such a circumstance only possibility is to break journey for which no refund id provided and for resumption of journey, he is supposed to again purchase a fresh ticket. In this process he has to loose an amount of about Rs. 20 to 40 or may be more. They are not ready to consider this requirement since they had not included in their original plan and our working so rigid like a parliamentary law which is amended frequently through delegated legislation.
HQ administration has suggested for use of staff toilets in any emergency but staff treats it as there personal property and not ready to cooperate in such emergency situations since we are not sensitive to public service though engaged for that. Psychological education and training is essential for public servants and if any facility has been provided to them, it does not become their personal property that should be made clear to every public servant. They are called public servants and not public masters or directors.
Considering the expansion of sphere and nature of public service, a complete review is necessary with psychological training to make them fit for public service. more
