Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has said his government will study the possibility of a system making parental approval mandatory in love marriages if it is constitutionally feasible.

So many young adults in metros are in live in relationships. Should consent be taken for them too? more
Much morethan parantal consent, awarness about pros and cons of love or inter caste marriage are to be spread. This is required because, many failures are seen in the recent past, forcing the girls returning to their parants within 90 - 180 days after the marriage. more
There are pros and cons either-way, so is it not advisable to take a 'lovely-arranged' to route? more
Atleast in Inter Religion Marriage, Parents consent is a MUST. Otherwise people get misguided. more
Love marriage is great but it’s the duty of everyone concerned whether the couple or the parents to ensure that it should be done sensibly in the best interest of the families and the couples future harmony happiness and comfortable co-existence. Sometimes parents can see the mistakes when the couple is blindly in love … at other times parents are blinded by reasons such as caste religion social status money etc. That becomes the reason for discord. Maybe a special category could be made where the age limit should be raised for “love marriages without parental consent” … for enabling decisions on reaching better maturity levels more
