Shouldn't we raise our voice for RIGHT to RECALL??
After the death of Jayalalitha, TN political environment turned up to an irresistible state, which we haven't experienced so far.
Unfortunately OPS was forced to resign in spite of his active participation in solving issues like getting Krishna Water, Jallikattu bills etc.,.
Then, in the attempts of making Sasikala / EPS as the new CM, very very dirty politics happened for about 11 - 12 days,
wherein most of the elected representatives (MLAs) were kept in tight custody in Koovathur resort purely for a particular group's personal gains.
So many unethical and undemocratic dramas went on till 18-Feb-2017 until EPS was declared as winner in the Floor test.
In all those dramas, all our elected representatives (MLAs) including TN Speaker, Police force etc., played a key role and finally achieved what they wanted.
None of the attempts to bring out the MLAs from Koovathur resort proved successful, even after cases were filed in High Court, police raids etc.,
The reason being that the MLAs and the group who kept them under custody, utilized all the loop holes in our system to their advantage.
Every one of us heard and knew that a full-blown police protection was also given for the Koovathur Resort, as a matter of appreciation for the undemocratic dramas hosted there.
TN people couldn't do anything on this issue, other than watching quietly.
The common people tried in so many ways (using phone calls, via social networking etc,) to pass on their constituency people's thoughts on who should be elected as their next CM.
But, most of the MLAs didn't even wanted to listen to people's voices, some said that they are extremely happy in Koovathur resorts,
some said that people doesn't have any right to say about CM selection, and so on.
IT IS PROVED THAT A COMMON MAN 'ONLY HAS THE RIGHT TO VOTE' AND FROM THE MINUTE AFTER CASTING HIS VOTE, 'HE DOESN'T HAVE ANY RIGHTS TO QUESTION THE ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES".
A COMMON MAN ONLY HAS RIGHTS FOR 5 MINS AND HIS ELECTED REPRESENTATIVE HAS RIGHTS FOR 5 YEARS.
We say 'We live in a DEMOCRATIC country' but do we feel that really?
Actually, 'Democracy is a government "of the people, by the people, and for the people." -
but seeing the worst situation in Tamil Nadu now, we get a feeling that - is it "for the people"?
In order to save our state at least in future, lets raise our voice and demand for the following changes in our constitutional laws:
1. Getting people's opinion (by means of voting) on whom should be selected as their CM, when a situation arises for electing a new CM after general election.
2. "Right to Recall" for people so that people can opt for recalling their elected representatives, in case they are deviating from public's interests - this will definitely force the elected
representatives to be responsible.
First of all we will have to fight for electrol reforms. Then only these will be possible. Will the politicians agree for such reforms that would be suggested by people

At the present rate we can only show our difference of opinion in the coming local election.

Vijay Kumar FEBRUARY 22, 2017 00:00 IST UPDATED: FEBRUARY 22, 2017 12:45 IST Protests engineered, say besieged MLAs The Tamil Nadu police have warned of action against those posting “provocative” content in social media against ruling All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam MLAs apparently owing allegiance to jailed party leader V.K. Sasikala. During the fight for Jayalalithaa’s political legacy between rebel leader O Panneerselvam and Sasikala, social media websites and mobile messaging platforms were flooded with political updates, most of them critical of the AIADMK Ministers and MLAs, who were supporting her. The AIADMK (Sasikala) claimed that some of these posts were made using fictitious social media accounts. In the run-up to the voting on the Motion of Confidence moved by Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami last week, social media sites were flooded with political satire, memes and audio clips targeting the AIADMK (Sasikala) legislators. There were messages warning that MLAs who were staying in a resort in Koovathur would have to face the wrath of people. In this backdrop, following a review of the security scenario DGP T. K. Rajendran ordered police security to all Ministers and MLAs visiting their constituencies or districts. The DGP’s office is collecting daily reports from all Police Commissionerates and districts on the visit of Ministers/MLAs, security provided and details of public agitations, if any, sources said. Police have been instructed to monitor social media websites and take action if any “provocative” content is posted against AIADMK MLAs. “Action would be taken against any person who posts messages, graphics, photos, audio/video content etc that have the potential to provoke public anger or hatred against MLAs,” a police officer said. A special cell to monitor social media websites was already functioning at the Special Branch CID of the State intelligence in Chennai. The official said tracking Facebook posts and tweets was easy while the origin of content in WhatsApp could be traced only with the assistance of the server managers. S. Vijay Kumar
