Dear all:

Attached is an image of a car trash bag created by Rotary Blood Bank Delhi. The bag is made of parachute material, costs Rs 40 and can be easily hung on the back side of front seats. The bag can be used, emptied and re-used to keep trash in one place, keep the car as well as streets clean.

If you have a similar example of simple things that can help drive cleanliness from a citizen action stand point, please do share with us. We will ensure its broadcasted and more get inspired by your example.

Any society, community, business can do these simple things and make their little contribution towards Swachh Bharat!

First we must reduce creating garbage to max extent. 25 to 30 % can be reduced if we mind doing it by way of avoiding usage of plastic bags, bottles, papers, tin, metals etc. Then we have to teach & train in every area by making & motivating teams. Train them, motivate them, recognise them for good work, monitor them, link them to some social service groups like NGO's, social service clubs like Rotary, Lions, Jaycees etc.Service must me provided to all houses in their area. disastrous recovery drive must be there in action. Listen to the greivenses of residents, shops, business shops, hotel, apt, malls, etc and support them to dispose the waste in proper way. To do all this one has to start from their home, extended it to neighbours, then to street, colony/apt and extn, then area and then ward. Each week they have to conduct meeting to know the progress/problems. Problems should be sorted out then & there itself. Processing unit must be there in each ward and it must take care of all garbage generated in that ward. Vision of at least ten years plan for processing unit must be there to receive additional garbage. After polio eradication war by Rotary, Blindness eradication war by Lions, all the service clubs, Institutions, all educated individual must join, contribute and see that beautiful City, Town, village, park, exists every where. Hope every one will do the above in true spirit and contribute to themselves for good cause which help very good environment for all of us. I have already started and extending it to others. R U doing it or Will u it now at least. Thanking you, Rtn P H F Umesh C J. 9980893930 more
A new opportunity has arisen for development of environmental friendly bio-degradable trash bags to replace polythene. Producing “eco-friendly” trash bags from recycled paper and bio- degradable made from organic matter and compostable polymer is one of good option today. This way generation of garbage can be reduced by more than half. more
