Since people are ready to pay any amount to touts for an illegal ticket , In emergency people fly by giving high price as airfare ..railway might have thought to use that same mentality and earn an extra buck. But it wont work if premium fare comes close to airfare. If I have to give RS.7000/ and travel by train , I would rather pay RS.8000/ and fly..Railways have to be little reasonable. more

TATKAL SYSTEM IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL. COMMON MAN WHO IS READY TO PLAN AND BOOK IN ADVANCE IS DENIED A CONFIRMED SEAT ONLY TO BE SOLD AT HIGHER MONEY INCOME CLOSER TO THE DATE OF TRAVEL. IT SHOULD REMOVED TOTALLY FROM THE ROOTS. more
why not make the system corruption free, instead of putting the financial burden on passengers? more
I agree with you as we are paying additional amount for Tatkal. It is a service organisation, profits should be there but not through this and it is only through efficiency it should be achieved. more
it appears, premium Tatkal is missing the service part of IR. IR should be both commercial and people oriented because it is a Govt Department. Hence, premium tatkal should not be there and done away with. more
It appears govt want to increase revenue by doing a new booking of PREMIUM TATKAL. I am of the opinion railway will get some more revenue, But by simply improving SAFETY SYSTEM Railway can avoid lot of Revenue Expenditure. By changing railway fare flat with respect to Distance i.e scarping Present Telescoping Fare system. Railway can generate more revenue. In my opinion Railway should not spent to sophisticating Railway Platform Floor & false ceiling to decorate platform or making it to international standard. Railway should take campaign for ACCIDENT FREE INDIAN RAILWAY at any budgetary cost. In past while taking survey we have found people voted for hygienic/cleanness more than SAFETY. I think people voted for SAFETY lower never faced a kith &keen effected due to Railway's negligence of Safety. I think this is high time to change RAILWAY FARE STRUCTURE AND IT SHOULD PEOPLE FRIENDLY, SIMPLE,LESS INTERVENTION BY RAIWAY OFFICIAL OR OTHERS IN GETTING RESERVATION. THERE SHOULD TRANSPARENCY OF ALL QUOTA AVAILABLE IN EACH TRAIN AND DAY TO DAY STATUS OF THE SAME IN NET. more
