Single use plastic bottles reuse by 5 star hotles
Recently i was at leela hotel in chanakyapuri delhi.
Turns out they are reusing kinley small PET water bottles that are generally made for single use.
PET is porous and has a tendency to collect bacteria and residual substances, which means that prolonged reuse of this plastic could be harmful. In addition its been proven that these bottles are likely to lead to microplastics being consumed by us.
Are there any standard of bis that allow reuse of single use plastic. Does kinley or its owner allow this. Who is ensuring sanitisation?

These wealthy people do have more and more greed for money which is again proved by the given illustration. These hotels are already charging at least 5 - 10 times of actual price of everything they sell, which is not enough to meet their hungry! The concerned government agency should look into the matter and stern action be taken against the hotel if found guilty of malpractices.

For a 5 Star to do this is disgusting ... given what they charge ... Did you point out to anyone there that you had received an "Opened" rather than "Sealed" bottle ? They are NOT permitted to re-use ANY Water bottles
