Sitting problem in Sleeper Coaches

Though the Sleeper coaches are meant for people to seat in their reserved places, are we really getting that comfort?

Nowadays Railways have a nasty system of not providing berth /seat to Children taking half ticket. Surprisingly this ridiculous system applies to all trains including Rajdhani.

Could they explain if the passengers take 3/4 such additional children in a 6 seater place how others will sit in a long journey?

Needless to say corrupt ticket checkers allowing many other wait-listed/general ticket holders to travel in reserved compartments fulfilling their own interest makes Train journey horrible though the funniest part is that the AC2T tickets in premium trains has becomes even costlier than flight tickets.

Grow up Railways. more

The same system is applied in Air ticket, where one has choice to take a seat for Child or pay 50% to carry child on Lap top, sitting at leaset for 2-3 hours . Why no Hue & Cry for Flight. The reason we are expecting too much from Railways, 3 tier Birth is quite accomodative for 4 person of average weight. more
Seating in Flight is completely different having separate seats, so you only have discomfort/ adjustment if you carry your child. In common seating arrangement carrying such ticket-less child/ half ticketed create discomfort for other passengers having no fault.
3 tier berth is certainly not comfortable for 4/5 passengers with additional 1/2 children aged 12/13 years for long journeys. Why can't their parent buy a full ticket with berth to avoid discomfort of fellow passengers. more
Already railway is spending Rs.115 to earn Rs.100, today people who are comfortable in quitting railway subsidy they must do it is the responsibility of every indian national to do a bit for his/her nation. So why not start leaving the subsidy of railway so that we can get a better rail service for out future generation. more
In no other transport system, half ticket holders are allotted seat or berth then why should Indian railways do ? Comfort always requires extra cost. If you want a berth for the minors, purchase a full ticket and your grievance will automatically be resolved. I don't think Local Circle will be helpful to you in this regard. more
I think you didn't read my post properly. The point was for the other passenger's inconvenience and not for the person who had taken half ticket for his/her kid and enjoying the same comfort (in a non-separated seating place) like the passenger who has paid full. WHY?
Half ticket system must be abolished where you sit in common place (may be allowed in Chair car where it's only your inconvenience. more
Yes, travel by second class sleeper is full of inconvenience due to unauthorized passengers. And this is the prime reason why travelling is no more a pleasant experience. If strict discipline is enforced , then second class sleeper travel would really be a heavenly experience more
