Situation of income tax payers in India, needs to be changed.

1. Current benefits of non-income tax payers

Free house, Free water, interest free loans, subsidized ration, wavier on loans,
free health cards....

2. Current benefits of income tax payer.
- 800 conveyance allowance. Even govt buses does give monthly pass for 800.
- tax wavier on max 1L savings. Where is the money to save.
- child education , 1200/child per year. This is funny. Which school in India accept 1200 fees per year.
- HRA, all weird calculation.
- wavier on interest payed on housing loan. If you buy a house.

This is all to save income tax. Where are benefits like free.. that non-income tax payers are
enjoying. This leads to q'n "Why should I pay income tax?"

3. I see people who own houses that are given by govt, so called poor. A person
who is paying income-tax and struggling to lead a house of 4-5 ppl with an income of 30k per month
does not have any house and it is distant dream for him/her. What is this discrimination?

This is encouraging ppl to earn black money. A panipuri vala, auto driver, self employed cooks, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, some business ppl...... do they pay income tax? Do we call them poor? Do we know how much they earn?

4. All purchases of land/house should be tracked via PAN, and the PAN holder
should have earned enough money to make corresponding purchase.

Some people take loan and repay with in couple of years, but they should have earned the same
amount during that period to repay loan(it should reflect in income tax file returns in those years).

We should prevent black moneny purchases of house/land.

5. Don't make people lazy by giving all free. Respect income-tax payer and treat them with high priority.

6. Income tax should be deducted after deducting (real bills of child education, health, grocers, travel).

7. All free benefits should be given to income-tax payers, who earn below 5L.

8. Income tax calcuations should be done based on inflation. more

Earlier there were multiple discussions on implementing the Direct Tax Code in 2011 or 2012. But it got lost somewhere. The idea was simplify the tax structure. UPA could not implement or may be they didnt want to implement the same. Hope the Tax structure is simplified in the days to come and Government gives some incentive to salaried people who continue to pay tax honestly. Further Govt need to work on increasing the number of Tax payers i.e. bring more people under tax net. Currently only about 3 percent people in our country pay income tax. Government need to think of the ways they can bring the smaller businessmen, professionals, property dealers to bring in the Tax net. more
I agree on your points...Have heard that Govt will being new tax slab 10% till 10L, 20% till 20L and 30% above... more
I appreciate your point - needed to be addressed more
Hi Gangathar, i thank you for providing valuable information. I strongly believe that your (our) points reach Narendra Modi table. I am saying from the heart "Long live modi". more
It is a pity, kindly have a look into a website "ARTHAKRANTI.org" tax proposal, if it materialises then our India can become more attractive than GULF with respect to taxes and it is a tough thing to start, but MODIJI enjoys doing tough things. Hope he will have a look into this seriously. more
