Small business monthly or quarterly return filing.

I hv a small trading business of less than a crore per year. We have kept one consultant for filling our monthly returns. I understand now that small businesses less than Rs 2 crore per year can file returns quarterly. But our GST consultant is telling us that we hv to deposit GST every month hence the same exercise of filling all data and generating challan and only return of GSTR3B is to be filed quarterly.
Will some expert pls advise if the whole exercise can be done quarterly ie filling all data , generating challan, depositing GST ammount and filling GSTR3B together quarterly. more

You are required to file GSTR3B every month before 20th of the succeeding month.. GSTR3B is summary of all your transactions for the month, sales, debit note, credit note, input tax credit...to arrive at your tax liability.. The tax liability should be discharged before 20th of the succeeding month and GSTR3B filed... Quarterly return is only for GSTR1 which is a detailed statement of all your outward supplies, debit note, credit note, input tax credit... classifying HSN-wise..Obviously you should ensure that your GSTR1 should match the sum of GSTR3B (three months) for the quarter... more
Till march 2019 Form 3B has to be filed monthly after GST payment. From april ,Return can be filed monthly but GST is to be deposited monthly. Now the point is ,how can you deposit tax unless you finalise sale and purchase GST.So from 2019,govt claim of quarterly return is an eyewash only, you have to finalise GST monthly and deposit it monthly OR be prepared to pay penalty and interest more
The Govt wants to Collect the Tax but the Paper Work can be done on a Qtly Basis. more
