Smart City Gone Wrong

Want to share some on the ground info I received last weekend about the focus of Governance and program like Smart City.

Apparently, cities have been told to get comments on a Govt Smart City website from their citizens. The quality of comment doesnt matter but some comment. The cities are paying money to mom/pop social media agencies who through hook and crook are getting meaningless comments. Asking students who are not even from the city to comment.

Similarly some ministries are paying big money to increase likes on facebook and twitter. Here again social media tenders are being done and everyone knows how likes and followers can be purchased. Not sure if there is corruption involved or not. yet to find instances.

This is bad governance. Taking tax payer money and spending it in meaningless pursuits. Will the Smart City officers of urban development please comment or other sections of the Govt. more

There is an urgent need to convert existing cities into Smart Cities.Improve sewerage and drainage system. Provide portable water for drinking. Deploy professionals to complete the job on turn key basis.Impose fine for dirting the place. Install cleanliness habit by imposing fine through police.Develop smart cities from scratch around the Industrial , educational and IT hubs only.Identify the demand of New Smart cities based on the working place of masses. Housing next to the Industrial corridor will be in great demand. Develop New Smart cities along the Industrial corridor. more
I have seen Mysore and Visakhapatnam , The impact of smart city concept is visible clearly. we can expect betterment very shortly. I suggest that the civic workers be provided proper dress and equipment and ensured to use them till workers are habituated to use them regularly. more
Proper responsibility should be entrusted to deal with the situation. more
For any social oriented programme to suceed peoples participation is a must. In two yeras of Mr KCRs rule Bhagyanagarm has become 'Dourbhagyanagarm' as far as roads are concerned. Pot holes, uncovered manholes, unfilled dug up roads leading to accidents. What a Joke "Bangaru Telangana". more
