On one day snapdeal talks about profitability. On next we hear Snapdeal-Flipkart deal has been signed off. Softbank to get $2 Billion equity in combined entity. Founders getting $10M and they are asking for more. after 8 years of hardwork, $10M is pretty bad deal. Guess something better than nothing. more

Note all these net vendors do not take any responsibility but only their commission from sellers, who many times play with innocent buyers. If only we can check the goods before paying, we can be safe. Also, the refund and return is deliberately kept vague. Thus you will always fall prey to these peoples' manipulations. Amazon, e.g., has no commensurate shipping charge structure, it is crazy, and if you want to return any item, many a time, they just keep mum and let you suffer. Hopeless. I will not be surprised if Amazon is the next. Learn to ignore stupid media hype, may be they get paid for it. more

Most of these "startups" are basically on line traders, not very different than the Telephone Traders/Fixers. They show turnover, profits until either foreign funding comes in or they have a public issue to public, then start declaring losses. Their only strength is offering "discounts", primarily by hiking list prices & then offering a discount. You will find that the same article could be found in your nearby shop at a lower price, sometimes less by 25%! more

These startups are like mushrooms. Long term planning will be difficult with such companies. Employees will always be on their toe. Thanks more
