Solar Energy is a Boon for survival:

We all know that the survival for Humanity is at stake due to environmental pollution. But the abundant solar energy and the technology available at reasonable cost is a blessing in disguise for us. Public are generally are not fully aware of these matters and its full implications though some momentum has gained compared to the earlier situation due to the initiatives taken by the Governments. But this is not adequate and peoples’ participation in a big way is needed.
The present policy of grid connection and net metering may not be ideally suited for smaller capacities for household use as it involves dependence on grid supply which is not fully reliable.
In the rural areas People need energy. Sun God is there. They can tap it themselves if suitable inputs are made known. Efficient storage of solar energy with suitable control systems is the latest mission in the West, which should be taken full advantage either by developing special type of batteries in place of the present lead acid type, either Lithium based or other type at reasonable cost /Hydrogen fuel cells/ compressed air storage/ pumped storage even for smaller capacities.
This will create lot of employment for rural youth and the Government can play the role of facilitator. Energy demand and energy losses will be considerably reduced and we can become energy independent in due course.
In Germany ''Citizens form cooperatives to drive the energy transition''. We should encourage peoples’ cooperation/ participation for Solar and other renewable sources instead of the Government trying to do everything. This will also reduce energy losses substantially.
The view that our per capita CO2 emission is much less and hence we can use more coal for power generation may not hold good at this stage where the crisis is looming large.
We can make real effort in promoting Solar and other renewable energy sources in a big way involving the people like in Germany. It is understood that in USA also coal industry workers are retrained for solar industry jobs.
Perhaps we can take lead in expanding solar and other renewable energy usage by encouraging peoples’ participation and also help other countries who are badly affected by environmental damage, particularly International Solar Alliance (ISA) countries. more

For all developmental activities Energy and Water are important basic needs which we all know and are becoming scarcer day by day. With the technology available solar energy is no more costly compared the overall advantages. Our overall energy losses is about 23% compared to about 6% in USA using about more than three times our usage. With the use of solar specially in rural areas our losses can be substantially reduced. We have about 300 sunny days in a year which is more compared to many advanced countries specially in Europe. Over and above all these factors, Environmental changes which are happening and likely to happen more with the use of more and more fossil fuels should be the concern for all of us. more
But it is still a Costly Affair than the Conventional must be a Cheaper Alternative. more
I think this will suit our needs .The government has to view it with seriousness and work out a proposal on this . more
