Solutions to Minimize Sexual Assaults/Rapes

1. Police should increase vigilance especially during night times
2. The punishment for culprits when caught and tried should be made severe
3. Those proven guilty should also be made an example of so that the general public understands that assaults, rapes or gang rapes are completely unacceptable in our country
4. Networked police check posts should be created along highways at reasonable interval to check activities along highways
5. GPS enabled panic buttons/apps should be promoted which would send signals in case of danger
6. In all the Police Stations, there should be at least one woman police officer who has the ability to understand the sensitivity of the case and can act accordingly
7. The greatest responsibility lies with the parents both literate and illiterate to educate their daughters and sons the consequences of going out alone or with unknown people and indulging in activities which may have dire consequences
8. Cases of rapes/gang rapes should be tried in fast track courts with judgement within a month
9. Free self-defence trainings should be given to women between age groups 12-35 years
10. Let there be a separate cell for Highway Patrol reporting to District Control Room
11. The guilty should also be required to give a fixed monthly amount to the victim for life time as a punishment
12. MHA should map every district of the country for Women Safety as Green, Orange or Red based on law/order situation, past record and preparedness and awareness should be created about it. more

People dont commit the crime only when they are aware of the punishments..A rapist gets 6 months of imprisonment when found guilty...It takes years for the judgement...The family of the victim has to go through a lot of hardship...This type of mechanism encourages the criminals...The first thing to be done in this regard is a stringent law that ensures judgement...If there is a clear case of rape ,the culprits should be made impotent ....This will reduce the number of rape cases drastically...........In case ,if it is a live in relationship, the rape law should not be applicable...Because ladies must also think about th possible consequences of live in relations.............................A STRINGENT ANTI RAPE LAW IS THE NEED OF THE HOUR....................................... more
What is the solution for the ladies who are filling fake cases of physical assault and molestation and disturb the peace of a person, forcing him to go rounds of Judiciary/ courts. more
please prevent dra and commetee these all are inlegal and unauthorised more
The suggestions posted are all good, but I also second Mr. Mathur that the root cause with movies, TV serials advertisements should also be addressed. Another area to be tackled on a war front is online porn. Esp like the idea of teaching self defense more
