Some states and districts are implementing partial weekend lockdowns. Do you believe such lockdowns are useful in containing the spread of COVID-19?

As per this Poll 47% say Weekend lock downs are meaningless.
Only 24% say it is good.

A 15 day Lockdown in 2 stages (exept essentialls at restricted timings and strict adherance of norms. ) in Chennai has already shown a fall in cases by more than 50 % . From 2000 + to jut above 1000.

These lock downs have instilled a sense of seriousness about the Virus and made the consciendized the public very well about the preventing methods , particularly Mask wearing and distancing .

Social Distancing is seen only wherever there is supervision from the traders or authorities . Otherwise it is like 2 wheelers Singnal Jumping only .

THAT MEANS A GOOD SECTIN OF OUR PEOPLE WANT TO BE UNDER THE TO FOLLOW DECIPLINE .

Let India continue this supervisng the distancing and Q system for another year to bring the ones to the level of law abiding ones. more

The lockdowns are announced to make people suffer intentionally by the Government? It is for you.If you do not want lock downs I welcome you to defy it and when you get COVID don't even come close to a Hospital for treatment, paid or free. You can add up the death rate to make namma uru comes first in death rate.I hope God is listening. more
I agree with Mr Padmanabhan Now, the question is, will people follow these norms after the lock down? as Nation witnessed impatient citizens violated all rules in 2nd phase of lock down and consequence is here to see, as history repeats itself , moment lock down phase is over people will be free to move anywhere and will barely follow golden rules (wearing mask, keep safe distance and frequent hand wash) and will things with little care for themselves and their family and the entire country will suffer as it happened after the lock down period. Govt can frame rules but without public support the aim will be missed. more
Now, the question is, will people follow these norms after the lockdown? As for essentials only during the lockdown, in today's world, essentials is not only the basic food. What is nit essential fir one, may be a necessity for other. Ex: - Walking exercise is essential for jany with diabetes, obesity etc. - A person working from home may require things like printer cartridge, papers etc . - Many have taken to diet foods, available only in select shops, for their health reasons, - ...... In earlier lockdowns, there w were problems with the supply chain of all items. Have these been taken care of? There are still many, like priests, daily wage workers, drivers etc. whose daily basic needs are met by te earnings during the day. Hiw will they live/exist? The first couple if lockdowns were required fir people to understand the seriousness and learn. But, even after 4 months they will avoid crowding, wear masks, keep distance, keep clean only when somebody forces them to, then the lockdown will never end. Because our health infrastructure has not changed - we only have temporary arrangements in schools, colleges, marriage halls etc. (agreed that it takes time, but how much time?). And if the objective is to reduce calamities and diseases, then then we need to have lockdowns when the pollution goes above a certain level, when there are floods, when the sun heat is really hot.... So, far nothing has been done about these. In fact, these are getting worse. Whether lockdowns will help or not, let us wait and watch the unlocked scenario. Whether these frequent lockdown, will more
