Mr Rajeev Bhargava has brought out a very pertinent point. Why should the Airfares rise because of Kumbh. Actually Airlines should increase number of flights and aviation ministry should fix the fare. more

Please check the fares of Air India. Its Flexi Fare Economy Class is available at Rs.20,510/- from Delhi to Allahabad, one way. In my view it is full economy fare. Under discount airlines could easily extend fares at 70% when directly booked online because no agent fee is involved and it is direct sale. more

I feel that most of us are keen to have benefits only. We do not wish to understand the cost of providing the services. My suggestion is that all airlines must declare the standard fare for knowledge of passengers. The passengers should not take the discounted fares as their right. Yes, but selection of a seat should not have extra charges to passengers. First come first whether online or on counter. Once a passenger has selected a seat number no cancellation should be permitted and if passenger wishes to cancel the booking there should be no refund. Change in the seat should be permissible free of cost. more
