SR. CITIZENS - IMPORTANT ITEM FOR INCLUSION IN BJP MANIFESTO - STRONGLY SUP

I would suggest BJP to include a very important subject concerning senior citizens for inclusion in their agenda, is to promise Full Medical coverage through approved Medical Insurance Companies. Govt. can pay full premium and the concerned Sr. Citizen should be required to pay only one time initial nominal amount towards premium. This will go a long way in ensuring complete medical treatment, free of cost, as most of the Sr. Citizen remain uncared for, barring Govt. employees(working/retired) etc. Sr. Citizen who are already getting any kind of Medical benefit should be given option to choose either National Medical Benefit Scheme or the existing Scheme of their employers or oth more

Thanks. But now the BJP is in power, they should atleast think of honouring Sr. Citizens. They can be very useful for the society due to their rich experience of jobs, social and family life. The services of able Sr. Citizens should be gainfully utilized for various social, media, legal and mediatory fora. This will help a lot in the judiciary, administration and local police in building a improved social set up and avoid many day-today law and order problems too. This is done in US. It is incumbent on qualified and able Sr. Citizens and not only Sr. Citizen but others also to perform small causes courts duties. They have been proved very helpful. As it is, experienced people are already being utilized for Consumer Forums. Let every willing Sr. Citizen - male or female, be given some assignment on payment of some honorarium to meet their out of pocket expenses, depending on the assignment. Thus, they will get some financial relief too. more

The medical insurance premium charged for senior citizens in the age band of 63 - 67 years is about Rs.36,000 for two years. I have taken this insurance after pruning some of the features and brought it down to Rs.27,000 for two years. Since I generally enjoy good health, I do not think that even medical expenses would be anywhere near this figure. The premia are too high, especially when most people in this age band live on pensions, or on their savings, and do not have high income. there is need to rationalize the health insurance premia charged for the senior citizens. more

Very helpful. Sr Citizens should know the consolidated Pension Statement once a year.The Incme tax relaxation to be given in submitting the Return. The medical and tourisom special package to be given. The Govt. officers needs to take the work of Sr Citizens on top priority and should gives respect. more

Apart from this please consider Tax Relief for senior citizens. Now most of them are not supported by kin. they are pulling on with some interest on savings or interest from retirement benefit. Now that interest rates are so low it is very difficult to pull on. kindly consider declaring exemption to these income of senior citizens. more
