Standards for air purification products
Can the BIS team please advise status of where you are in regards to standards for air purification products like air purifier, masks, bags, dehumidifiers, deodrisers etc.
We cannot simply copy and paste standards from other countries. Our air is far worse and I feel the filters, machines all have to have certain basic standards that do the job. Otherwise we will be at the mercy of the manufacturers, buying filters every year that cost 25% or more of the cost of the machine.
Last year, multiple manufacturers did not have the stock and due to lack of standardisation filters weren't available for these machines. Which means consumer spends money on the device but cant use it because the air filter is not available.

I use a imported purifier I only cleanit repeatedly ,never damaged it and not replaced .only uv light bulb needs probably after a specified period.

I agree. Earlier I was involvd in fixing standards for Polymers /PVC and PET. We normally saw that we write down the standards of various developed countries and pick up the best / worst values for each quality parameter. It is difficult to get all best values. Regds. Brij Malhotra
