I want to ask experts in this circle and fssai if they have laid any standards for buffet meals in restaurants. I find that there are some restaurants that make curries and some dishes at 11 am, set it up at 12 pm and then even serve some of these curries till dinner and they clearly loom stale with a white layer on top. Even the servers and kitchen staff is instructed to keep stirring it more often in evening.
If there is some standards then it will really help consumers. more
I remember the buffet lunch I had at a reputed five star hotel in Delhi and as I love salads instead of greasy gravy, I opted for some cold salads and boy I got so ill that night. Then I got to know that all these salads are made early morning and as they are all cold salads, many of them get bad towards the end of the day. How can five star hotels do such a thing. The food is so expensive and on top of it we have to rush to hospital and pay the doctors. Not good. more
Yes the standards had been laid there by implementation of Food Safety Management System which is mandatory for all Food Business Operators and the same has to be audited by Certified Food safety Auditors on annual basis . The worst part is that no such auditing has taken place even after lapse of seven years of the implementation of Food safety & Standards Act 2006. FSSAI has failed in their duties as mandated under FSSA 2006 to provide safe food to public. more
