Education services in India – Some issues identified by Citizens
1.There are no standards that schools need to follow to charge fee
2.Quality of education standards in government schools is not at par with the private schools
3.There are inadequate facilities in many schools, especially Government schools
4.There are not enough colleges to accommodate the number of students who seek admission every year
5.Teacher quality in many schools and colleges is not up to the mark
6.Some schools and colleges ask for huge donations at the time of admissions
7.Many deserving candidates don’t get admissions as admission processes are not transparent
8.The option for students to choose courses which match their aptitudes is very limited
9.Many courses and curriculum content is not relevant to industry
10.Majority of the courses are theoretical with the practical aspect missing
11.Fees structure of good private colleges is very steep that middle class cannot afford
12.Set metrics must be defined for all educational institutes and mandatory publishing of the same required on their websites
13.Non-qualified people open tuition centers and mislead students
14.Many training institutes show false rosy pictures to aspirants to get them to take admission. more

It is time people realize that we cannot allow private schools to exploit us. Let us all cater to the Government schools; their standards are bound to improve. more

Medical and education departments must be totally under govt only. Only minimum contribution of private industry be allowed. more

YOUR SUGGESTION SEEMS TO BE "UTOPIAN"..!!.. IF GOVT. TAKES OVER FULL EDUCATION AND/OR MEDICAL EDUCATION - HOW WILL POLITICIANS MAKE MONEY EVERY YEAR FROM FRES STUDENT ADMISSIONS..??.. more

1. Education should encourage creativity and build moral values. Current education believes only in Rote learning. 2. One of the reason why Japan succeeded is that they build moral values in small children. But in India, emphasis is only on marks right from KG. 3. Schools especially CBSE schools do not give vacation after the final exams are over. This is causing burnout among children. This should be immediately stopped and the current practice of giving summer vacations after 3 weeks of final exams should be banned 4. Schools are starting admission process for grade 11th and collect fees atleast 6-7 months in advance - even before grade 10th exams are over. This is nothing but cheating and extortion 5. It should be made mandatory for schools and colleges to accept only electronic or cheque mode for fees payment. There are some colleges which accept only cash payment. 6. Though NCERT books are mandatory now for CBSE schools, schools are openly violating this rule. more
