Standards for hotel services
I have written on this subject in the past. Why has BIS not formed any standards for hotel services.
Some hotels esp the ones is smaller towns and religious destinations take consumers for a ride.
Even in many Mumbai so caller 4 star hotels near airport one can find cockroaches in bathrooms.
May be there should be a hotel regulator in the country like we have regulator for aviation/airlines.

It is true that govt should control them. but we the public also need to have some responsibility. 1. Business people must have ethics and morals. 2.Culture protection groups need to do some thing for this. 3 we the customers also need to take some pain and give complaint . 4 ,We are so liberal we say Chelega and chalta hai. In this post also the names of those hotels are not given. iF PUBLIC CHANGES BUSINESS ALSO CHANGE.

Hotel Services are still in childhood where as professional in judiciary and madication are the immediate requirement

We should state what you expect minimum from these hotels with star or no ratings?. Simply bypassing the problem & saying Govt. should do this & do that,what we ordinary citizens having various good/ bad own experiences should start pending down same.๐ง๐ค๐๐

IT MAY BE NAIVE TO THINK THAT ANY STANDARD BY BIS OR ANY OTHER AUTHORITY WILL FORCE PEOPLE TO OFFER BETTER PRODUCT/SERVICE.AS IT IS THERE ARE SO MANY STANDARDS/RULES AND LAWS AND WHAT IS THE END RESULT? THERE HAS TO BE A GENUINE DESIRE TO OFFER GOOD PRODUCT/SERVICE.FOR SUCH PEOPLE THERE ARE CERTIFICATIONS LIKE ISO AND QS WHICH HELP THEM TO OFFER AND MONITOR THEIR PRODUCT/SERVICES.THESE SYSTEMS HAVE MANDATORY AUDITS TI ENSURE COMPLIANCE OF PROVISIONS OF THE SYSTEM.

What a self inflicting comment. The writer says "many 4 star hotels in Mumbai,one can find cockroaches in bath rooms". My question is who gave the 4 Star category to such hotels? As I know the hotel ratings are conferred by Michelin Tyres all over the world. If GOI have an agency to rate hotels and eateries please write to them with a photograph of the hero cockroach, date, time, and name of the hotel. Further every municpal corporation or town municipality have their Inspectors. One should approach them with proof. If no action is taken approach higher authorities and contact the media to publish it about the erring hotels.Making comments on a social media platform with out proof is just to gain publicity.
