We have to wait for some more time for people to understand and get used to GST and then prices will stabilise more
The prices will only go up that was expected by the masses after GST.The whole design of GST is wrong. The problems of our country cannot be solved by borrowed concepts and also not by people who are not innovative. In last 17 years of GST discussion, there was no talk of developing a system which is simple & robust for the size of the country and population. A computerized system is not a manual way of doing things that can be changed whimsically. It is the job of the system designer who has to come up with the configuration and layout of the system to migrate to a well designed advanced and integrated system that can deliver much more than present in coming times. If required, some changes in the present system of taxation also to be considered to simplify the system. All these things along with all other information like inventory, labour & capacity utilization of the whole economy should be available from the system so that proper development of the economy can be achieved with optimum utilization of resources including HR which is very important. But, the whole opportunity is lost because the whole idea of the exercise has been for tax collection only. And everybody knows that nobody wants to pay taxes willingly as it goes only one way to feed the corrupt bureaucracy and the powerful. Because of the non-inclusive nature of the GST, it will not be able to fulfil the requirements of the country more
The ground fact is that there is continuous non cooperation in the Business Sector since Demonetization and increasingly stepping up from GST demanding decrease of limit for exemption of Returns ; easing the format of Returns & Expenses accounting . This is all to totally avoid the incidence of volume of Business as well as in support the Big Businessmen . They are reluctant to use Card Swiping machines , issuance of electronic Bills also since 2017 April LEAVING OFF ONLY THE SALARIED EMPLOYEES REMAIN AS TRUE, FAIR , PROMPT AND ACCURATE TAX PAYERS to Befit all . more

Dear Mr Vishal Khanna, The attached graphs depicts a disturbing picture. But my experience is that such steps - demonetization, GST implementation - were all essentially necessary. The issues what I understand is that there are elements in the society who don't want developments take place in our country. These forces strengthed in the last 7 decades are enough to take any challenge at the national level. I am retired after putting 45 years of services and settled down in Kerala. Just for example; Before GCT, Chicken with 14% tax was costing Rs 102 per Kg. You know chicken is removed from the GST tax bracket but in Kerala Chicken post-GST priced at Rs 140/- a kilo. Reason GST. Even LDF Govt couldn't reduce the price. This was widely published in the news papers in Kerala. Because the underlying lobby is so powerful. A dangerous situation. You might have read in the news that fake Rs 2000/- notes are rampant in Kerala. It is time now that we, the people of this country, realise that there is "no free lunch in the economy" and that "there is no short cut to success" things cannot change. Many big shots are now realising this. If we want our country in the path of sustainable developments we have to pass some difficult times and there we are. It is a testing time for us to stand strongly with the Govt. Thanks more
