The post is an eye opener for the states that are not taking interest to detect COVID 19 cases early and treat . May be these states haven't built up the bed strength and Health worker Teams . Till 10 days back , U.P. hogged the lime light as as it hadn't featured in the high cases list . But some states had adopted the South Korean Model of Mass testing , so that they identify detect and start the treatment early , so that the death cases are reduced and recovered cases are increased .As the cases get recovered, they become immune and dont transmit . If cases aren't detected , particularly the symptomatic ones , they become potential transmitters of the disease to the co morbid ,over 65 and children . So "Focus Testing" should be done and be prepared to "Learn to Live with Covid 19 " more

Testing costs money which States do not have. Moreover, testing does NOT modify mindset or behaviour. Since we have community transmission now, it does not help in contact tracing. More testing usually discloses a good many asymptomatic cases. No beds in hospital is a common answer for such patients. Key to breaking corona chain is voluntary behavioral change as happened in New Zealand and is beginning to happen in several countries in Europe. more

Karantaka has the dubious distinction of more than 50000 positive cases even before it crossed total of 1 lakh cases. In contrast Maharashtra, Tamilnadu, & Delhi(where in absolute terms it was much higher) reached this mark well past their 1 lakh positive cases. There are allegations of corruption in matters relating to setting up of Covid care centres. The state is adding over 5000 fresh cases a day with half of them from Bangalore. Central Government should act as their own party is ruling here. more
