I don't think Eucalyptus oil to be that effective against COVID-19 virus. Lemongrass oil should be much more effective. I have seen a no. of people/ hotels in Rajasthan to use a mini water heater and putting lemongrass, as such or about 10 drops of lemongrass oil. more
There is a lot of ambiguity and lack of focused scientific research to point to specific essential oils suited for destroying viral pathogens.

You can use a specific essential oil which makes you happy - less stress will make your immune system stronger :)

Some sources point to the following oils as beneficial to fight viral infections but as I said earlier, very focused and detailed scientific studies are required to establish this:

- Tea Tree
- Peppermint
- Lemon
- Eucalyptus
- Lavender
- Cinnamon

Some people can be allergic to Lemon Grass Oil but then it should be OK to use 8-10 drops in a diffuser if you enjoy the nice smell. more
Simply because you have seen people/hotels in Rajasthan using lemongrass oil, does it mean that it is effective against Covid-19 and branding Eucalyptus oil ineffective???? more
Even if you don't have medicinal effect, simple water will do miracle. I do this once a day since corona epidemic started. more
Ms.Seema ,thanks for reminding us on the Grandmas Remedies. All those people who condemed the age old, Time tested Therapies are retreating and started reposing faith . This was recommended by our Doctor member somewhere around May to stall the infection . The Doctor had also recommended a few drops of Eucalyptus oil or Vicks to add medical effect on the steam . Whenever I get the slightest of ILI (Influenza Like Infection) symptoms I follow this pracice for a couple of days and the sympoms vanish. more
A very useful study. I believe there is no harm if one takes steam at least once a day as a precautionary measure against Covid-19, influenza, common cold etc. more
Thank you Ms.Seema Mehra for sharing this study report which further concluded that Steam inhaling is an effective preventive measure for covid-19. Well done. more
