Stop thinking, Start doing!

Hi,
I am overwhelmed with the way people have started talking about and contributing to "Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan", however, we as civilians also need support from government/local authorities for us to contribute further to this "Abhyaan". At every 100 meters we need a dustbin on the roads, colonies, socities, business parks etc. for us to throw garbage to where it belongs. Today, I am trying my best, not to throw anything on the road, but if I do not have the tool, I am forced to throw it on the road due to non-availiability of dust bins for long distances. Even after installing the dustbins, they should be cleaned & maintained regularly, people responsible for cleaning roads, dustbins etc should be given appropriate tools to clean, so they do not get sick because of their work or feel demotivated due to lack of tools. They should be paid well too inorder for them to hold their heads high in the society.
Together, we can and we will make this a better country to live in.
Jai ho! more

Hi All, thank you for the wonderful suggestions and I completely agree with you'll and have already started doing the same, however, a country can only develop when there is commitment from both ends, which is US and the government, by my post I did not aim to demean the government, but only urge them to help us in a better, efficient and effective way. I am glad that there are people like you'll who play an active part to mak the country what it is today and only want to make it better. Let's do this, together we can and we will! Jai ho! Please refer to my Post "Cleanliness is next to Godliness" for your valuable suggestions. more
Hardik, we all face this dilemma. But I keep a bag/poly packet which serves as my dustbin till I find one. This way I don't feel guilty and in my small way contribute to the drive. My family and friends too have started doing this, at least when I am around. If we all make a small difference we will certainly be able to spread the message through our example. more
Swachh Bharat is a social obligation, Mahatma Gandhi Swachh Bharat abhijan is an outlook. This is possible only if we love our home, society, locality, village , Town, state and country by the way of belonging. We can at-least keep our home in order and help & cooperate with our local body to dispose off the garbage. This is the way that we can help our society without expending anything.Let us start from zero even though there may be obstacles. We can take example from any tourist/picnic spot where how we keep the place dirty after our use.But the traditional villagers never expect this from our urbanize society. more
Hardik Singh, You can put the waste things in your pocket or in a bag and carry them till you find a dustbin or carry to your home workplace and throw it in the dustbin kept there. But the question is why should you? Well you think and Ponder!! more
