Stop TRAI from interfering with the existing Cable & DTH system.

First let me thank Dept. Of consumer affair for intervention
I am a Professional engaged in Communication navigation sets sales & service.
I am running TV view system in our colony for last over 30 years. The complete distribution network was designed & maintained by me.

We have around 375 (± 10%) connections. System now runs on Fibre Optic.
The present charge per box are (1) All channel normal Rs. 3200 Per Year. Rs, (2) Charge for normal as well as HD channel Rs. 3800.00 Per year.
Hence present per month c for normal = Rs. 267 & for Normal + HD = Rs. 317,
With New system forced upon by TRAI, the charge will be Rs. 450 per month for normal & with HD = 750 per month
Thus, now the increase is 100%.

The TV is seen by old & new generation. Hence viewing for old & young are different. Hence TRAI can't say that you have to select channels of your choice Only.

I pray that your department comes to the rescue of common citizen & tells TRAI to stop interfering with existing system,

Govt. may collect cess. The cess was collected prior to the implementation of GST.

We now remain at your service for any further clarifications required. more

The bunch of people managing TRAI are not more than a bunch of idiots who had passed on their personal wills in the form of directives making the new system effective, which is in no way consumer friendly. On the contrary, in the name of making TV viewing cost effective for the subscribers, these incompetent people have made home entertainment costlier by 2 to 4 times of the existing pricing system. No one can rule out the possibility of these peoples' collusion with the service providers belonging to the corporate houses to serve their own personal interests, which, the government should get investigated. Surprisingly, the concerned department has just closed its eyes on the issue despite people from different parts of the country belonging to different classes and categories have disapproved the revised pricing system and are continuously expressing their anger over the issue of indirect taxation in the name of 'you pay for what you view'. The concerned ministry should immediately direct TRAI to roll back the new pricing system and to reinstate earlier one. more
The corporate Government will not give an Ear to our cry as TRAI is following instructions from PMO only. TRAI was instructed to made such an attempt earlier alsi for internet connection as NET NEUTRALITY, which was same bluff and cheat like this in TV channels system. So, we the People should take step, like I did. Stop watching TV for next three months instead go to news apps/entertainment apps if desired. This would reduce revenue of priced channels and they will either make their channels free like some other free channels or they will themselves demand Government to withdraw this scheme. more
Yes. can we raise this issue with the Minister Mr Ravi Shankar prasad. Or Direct with PMO. more
All TV viewers are victim of TRAI. You should give good lesson to them. I wrote a letter to PMO. more
looks like trai wanted to make its presence felt. They should have formulated the guidelines and should concentrate more on the mobile network issue which is deteriorating day by day more
