Storm in BJP (Perceived as A Disciplined Party) over ticket to Kalraj Mishra in Deoria
Former state president of BJP Surya Pratap Shahi said: "The situation is not good. The nomination of Lok Sabha candidate from Deoria had hurt the dedicated party workers."
Party worker, Amit Singh, a resident of Masjidiya village in Pathardeva had announced to set him ablaze. Shahi said, "It is extreme emotional outburst. We are trying to pacify him and making him realize not to take such an extreme step over a trivial issue like ticket distribution."
"The people want a change and they are depressed over UPA's bad governance. The workers are working hard to bring that change. In such a situation, they are emotionally hurt with the decision of the party leadership," Shahi added.
On contesting as an Independent candidate, Shahi said, "I started working in the party with a mission and followed certain principals throughout my life. The association is very deep and I was always a committed worker."
BJP spokesperson Satyendra Sinha said: "Surya Pratap Shahi is the right candidate from Deoria. As a senior leader, he has good connect in the area. He is former state president and elected MLA for four terms in 1989, 1991, 1993 and 1996. He was also appointed as minister. It is injustice and we are hurt." more
