The Government administration and business men of this country who focus on many other useless things but not basic things like addressing stray menace must be seriously ashamed of themselves.

Business men should form a consortium get with Govt to deploy their CSR funds and create these facilities in their own city managed my municipalities

If Parag bhai Desai had done that there would be no stray dogs in Ahmedabad and he would still
Be alive

Wake up call. more

I think people are over-reacting to newspaper reports which states facts incorrectly (Which the industrialists family and hospital have since clarified). Apparently, there were no bite marks on the industrialist and he had a freak fall on either a road or a cement- concrete paved area (There is also an evil in covering up every piece of earth with concrete). Everyday when I go out for a walk, I get intimated by stray dogs and I am vary of snakes coming in the way when its dark or at night. I have had some incidents with both stray dogs and snakes and quite shaken up remembering about it. However, I have learnt the hard way that neither snakes nor dogs attack humans unless we scare them or attempt to feed them when the dog (or pack) is already showing signs of aggression. If you are careful and stay away from snakes, they will slink away. As far as dogs are concerned, they may start barking and even chase you as they are very territory conscious. If they are after food that you are carrying, make it a point to throw it far away. Again, humans should stay put where they are, not scream or shout or attempt to run and after a while the dogs will go away. A word of caution is that dogs do not have sweat glands and as the temperature rises, some dogs go mad. Such dogs can be very dangerous and cause serious harm to humans. In the normal course, there is treatment for dog-bites and rarely anyone has prolonged issues. The civic authorities must take steps like neutering dogs, involving local area groups to feed and take care of strays. Caging them or killing them is not right. Wild animals have as much of a right to exist for the purpose of natural balance. Issues like increased urbanisation, global warming and lack of space is making these wild creatures interact more with humans. There are also cases of leopards, fox, wolves, monkeys coming into urban areas as their habitat is being destroyed by humans. We humans seem to be the root of the problem. more
Kindness to animal misplaced as it is for some who sympathise with the terrorists. Shame! more
Like many in our country who think differently than those who are pragmatic and loyal to the nation the animal lovers are protecting these animal terrorists. If we are so keen to imitate the so called advanced nations why not copy them in eradicating this menace? more
It is the Animal Rights Protectionists, who need to be kicked where it hurts more
