How good this advice is to children? Those who move in cars, hardly realize pains and fears of those who move on foot or on bicycle. City people hardly realize the pains of a farmer, who looses his entire crop overnight to stray cattle or monkeys. Let's face the reality! No stray animals (dogs, cattle, monkey, cats) should be allowed in residential areas. Please realize dairy farmers earn from milch cows/buffelo. It is pure economics and there is no love involved. Please realize many (not all) persons have pet dogs as a status symbol and not out of love. Only real solution (although many will disapprove it for various reasons) is eliminating them. There should be laws on "lovers of stray animals" making it compulsory for them to adopt stray animals as pets. If such laws are really implemented then only we will be able to know those who "truly love stray animals". It is time to understand "ecosystem" comprehensiblly. Squirels, are birds are eliminated by stray dogs and cats. Many species either disappeared or has become endangered because of stray dogs in Ladhak. Rabbits and peacocks; once a common sights in Punjab are in danger because of stray dogs. We are in dire need to restore pristine ecosyststem and her balance, and just cannot continue with stray animals living in our colonies. We need to understand spread of disesses (zoonotic) from animals to human. Common culprits are stray cattle, stray dogs, monkeys and cats. Shoud we wait for another pandemic (like Covid) to make us aware of nuisane from stray animals? Lets make it an issue in the forthcoming Municipal elections. more

Thanks for the suggestions worthy of consideration. In fact, more ways to get rid of the menace should be drawn according to various societal experiences. On that basis, a consolidated list should be drawn for circulation for civil society. I have found that at times even the intervention of High Courts has been of little use. THE WELFARE ASSOCIATIONS SHOULD GET TOGETHER ALONG WITH THE LOCAL MUNICIPAL ORGANISATIONS AND WORK SERIOUSLY. ONLY THEN SOME WAYS CAN BE FOUND TO GET RID OF THE MENACE.
