my husband seems to be struggling off late with his knee when he runs. i thinks its due to lack of exercise and excessive sitting in planes. suggestions on what should be done pls. more
Anjana is right. Do not run, as it puts greater stress on the knees. Walking is fine. Add to that the following exercise. It can be done for at least 20 times a day, anytime he feels like. Sit on a chair, put your right leg across the left thigh . Hold the right knee with both your hands and pull towards your chest as much as you can. Count to 20 and release. Do the same with the other combination. This will relieve him. Its a tried and tested method, & it works. But donot leave it altogether. Keep doing it. 20 times at anytime you desire. It can be done anywhere you sit. more
He should start walking instead of running. Start knee specific exercises and gradually add strength training with weights. Start with low weights. Add calcium to his diet. Start taking care of the knee right now else it may get too late. more
