Success depends on showing end to end solution to people.
Great initiative by Hon. PM - its a first national level initiative to make India clean. This drive will make India one of the best places to live - same as in developed countries.
Cleaning does not end with just taking a broom and cleaning the road and posting photographs in social media.
Most of us are not aware of and are looking for answers to :
- after cleaning what ?
- what happens to my pile of waste, dustbins,..
- where will the waste go ?
- who will take the waste
- what is the best way to avoid the waste generation?
- Where are the dumpyards - what happens there ?
and more...
I think each and everyone must be given information of the same.
The best mantra for clean drive should be :
REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE

Dear Mr. Agrawal, Yes, there needs to be efforts from all ends. Taipei is a good example and can be a role model for our bodies. We must gather their SOPs and amend as per our requirement and try and get them introduced in our system. We have long journey to make - but at least, our PM has started the thought process which needs to be applauded. more

Dear Prasad, Continue your good efforts, let every body continue. But simultaneously, we must also make groups which which will generate awareness towards Nagar Palika functioning. A good web site is a must. You cant continue what we are doing now. A strong followup through web is always effective. I will give you an example. I have asked few things through "contact us " on web of bharuch Nagar Palika, no answer since 10 days. I am in Taipei, in their web, all the departments of City functions ( like Roads, Garbage, Streat lights, Gardens, Revenue,water supply, health, senior ciyizens etc...) can be contacted on web. They have to answer immediately by giving a Number to your complaint/sugestion/query. They also give a date (less than 15 days) by which satisfactory answer will be given to you by respetive dept. Then they ask a feed back electronicaly. All this makes officers of Palika accountable. I just wrote to Mayor of Taipei on 1.10.14, requesting to give details on how they keep city clean. I got detailed information and also Head of Environment Protection deptt visited my house, with further information, and was very happy to answer any question. This is the effect of good web site,...that is good effective e-governance. more

please brouse the web site of "Taipei City Government" and browse web of your city, you will find big difference. If they can not make a good web site , how can they do an actual good work ? So elect good representatives...... Form a Local Circle in your city " PROFESSIONALS FOR CITY" .to replace politicians by Professionals in Civic Boy. Form groups of 4 to 10 persons in each ward and select a good well educated person to be the representative of that ward in next civic election. At present we don’t bother for Municipal elections, we just put our stamp on a candidate selected by Politicians. On the contrary people of the area should choose an honest well educated person and talk about him in your Ward. Let him contest and Win the election. When such persons will sit in Civic Body...you get answer to your concern. more
