suggestions for the betterment of IR

good step , railways has taken.but IR should also ensure that trains late runing will be controlled. other wise this 15 to 20 minutes will be converted to several hours?
message of late arrival should be sent to passanger by sms.
now, question is, if train is 30 minutes late, in such case, what will be reporting time at the plate form.generally, 30 minutes late increases to 40 , 50 and further one hour.
secondly, plateforms are sudenly changed even before 10 minutes of arrival.
further, you see a message written on plateform that first aid box is with station master.
how one can go to station master from plateform no 9 or 8 if train is expected to reach there. it should be on each plateform.
now a days passangers carry big suitcases with them which cant be accomodated under the seat? and 4 to 5 bags of luugage on one ticket.
during, security cheque, luggage checking should also be done and extra luggage must be booked soon .
people have one confirm ticket and have one or two waiting ticket passangers with them.which causes discomfort to other passangers.
IRshould also think about this.
advance booking time should be reduced to 2 months. IR uses public money for months . and dalals, brokers get benefited.
so many other problems are there, which i want to share.
on internet bookingof tickets, we are given choice to select berths, SL ,L , SU, U ETC.But when we see ticket, berths are alloted in different order?
again when we go on booking window to purchase tickets, we enquire vacant berths. answer is yes, but when we go in que to book ticket, booking clerk says no? we believe on him. we cant see his computer screen. hence i request IR to display( available berths for the station for which ticket is being purchased,)on screen , which passenger may see at the time of booking his ticket. it can stop corruption. more

IR need huge funds for expansion of stations and tracks to reduce halting of trains but facing acute shortage of funds as more than 80% of revenue collected as spent on salaries/perks/pensions of work force. Unless, the expenditure is curtailed and accountability of each official is fixed for any delay, lapse and negligence, no improvement should be expected. more
Dear Sri Satyapal ji, At the outset, IR should maintain punctuality. For Local or suburban atleast five minutes have to be given for pasengers to reach the platform. A clear 20 minutes time has to be allotted for any train (Express/Mail/Superfast) and the platform specified for booked passengers to reach the platform. The sequence of bogies to be displayed at every scheduled halt station twenty minutes in advance, This will enable passngers to enter the bogie with minimum difficulty and least jostling. After an announcement is made about the platform in which the train is going to be accomodated, no change must be made, unless the train is further delayed abnormally . All passengers who are to use a train which is running more than one hour late have to be notified by SMS on the registered mobile. All such passengers who are accomodated in the waiting halls for any train running late have to be compensated by suitable refreshments, including any attendant who is attending the passenger, particularly the elderly, challenged or sick persons. Railway running staff (operations) have to be given incentive for maintaining punctuality of trains. An amount of one percent of fare (rated) for the particular train and particular journey should be provided for and incentive granted on a quarterly basis. Railway operations staff who are lethargic cause delay and make a train run late, should be excluded from the payment of incentive. In case of maintaining punctuality of locals, suburbans and shuttle trains, 40 percent of the fare (rated) from end to end should be arrived. One percent of such fare to be earmarked for the operations staff and paid to performers on a monthly basis. Season ticket fare , privilige ticket or any free passage should not be counted in the arrival of the rated fare. The delay caused due to accidents or derailment or power failure should be ignored for guaging the overalll performance and punctuality of trains in the section. Raghavan AVS 9396487826 more
Railways should link the signalling system with the IRCTC website for train status. As soon as the train passes a signal of a station the IRCTC system must be updated for arrival/departure with time for the specific train. No manual intervention..... To day, the status of train shown is old enough and it looses its critical importance..... more
A lot.....and I mean, a LOT.....needs to be coordinated and harmonised for the benefit of the passengers on railway platforms and inside the railway trains in our country. It really is a pity that "important information reports" go haywire in organising train time-tables and seating arrangements.....on the platforms. Surely, railway personnel continue to visit abroad but fail or refuse to register what steps those countries take to ascertain that their trains run "on time" and "on which platform"........FOR THE CONVENIENCE OF THE PASSENGERS......jaago bandhu jaago......ab toh jaago....... more
With all the problems indicted by Mr.Satyapal Singh, any sane person will board the train well in advance and they are doing it Hence this indication is just to take care of legal formalities so that if the TTE allot a seat (even for some alms) no one can question him. With the other announcement of no notice board on compartments to indicate the list of passengers, this is going to create more problems only Many issues more worthy to implement like public system announcement of oncoming stations, unreserved passengers travelling in reserved compartments and like needs first priority more
