Suicide in Hyd univ-Activists have no patience
It is necessary that the media and the so called activists should wait for the completion of investigation before jumping to conclusion. Media and the activists seem to think that being anti-establishment is activism. In the process, many activists in the country are looking like professional agitators and they are losing credibility.
Activism is necessary but activists need to have impartial outlook and avoid opinionated reactions.
For example, in UP in recent Dadri issue, there was a huge protest by the activists and the media. Later on, when chargesheet was filed by the police, there was no reference to beef at all which was the central theme of the Dadri issue. However, when the chargesheet was filed, the media and the so called activists kept silent and jumped into the next issue with what appear to be pre conceived approach.
In the Hyderabad university case, why should the leader of Congress party and AAP jump into the fray and virtually incite the protesting students to continue the agitation with even more vigour? They have done so with great speed, without even taking time to ascertain the details. In India today, politicians have no qualm about exploiting any issue for their personal benefit. The activists should avoid looking like politicians.
