Super accurate taxi aggregator survey for Bengaluru

LocalCircles should consider doing a national survey on taxi aggregators service.

They seem to have done one in Bengaluru that is going viral here as it brings out the truth of Ola and Uber and how driver cancel rides and surge pricing fleeces us.

Same should be done nationally and Govt should make rules so surge pricing is eliminated and drivers are disincentivised for cancelling rides. Then they will think twice before taking rides. more

If a prompt and hassle-free complaints system is provided and complaints resolved promptly, things will automatically improve. The Ola and Uber drivers will then not dare to cheat the public. more
Agree with Mr. Sudarshan Venkataramanan. Equitable billing system is needed. The amount to be paid to Ola/Uber is pretty high as per the drivers, especiaily as many drivers take vehicle from the Car Owners and ply these as taxis. Ola /Uber should cut their share a bit by making the business more attractive to the Cab Drivers. Specifically so on routes which are less remunerative. more
This is true all over the country. The trouble started post covid. Has anyone analysed why this is happening? Maybe the drivers are not making enough money. The cabbies are there to render service. If they are not, there is a problem. Unless we address the problem, this is not going to be sorted out by force or legislation. No driver is going to provide unremunerative services. This is very common even for autos who refuse to ply short distances or certain routes where they do not expect to get return fare. We cannot expect socialism everywhere. A more equitable billing/revenue system is needed for drivers to get these services working. more
You can’t say don’t use them. We do need them. The authorities should have proper guide lines and enforce strict action. more
It is no better in Chennai. Cancellations are very, very common. In addition, many of them call and ask for the destination and demand more money. If you are in a hurry, you are forced to pay the extra. The other trick that is often played is for them to come to your pick up point and then cancel but take you at the Ola/Uber rate or slightly higher so that they don't have to pay the aggegator commission. Our people are great in by passing even the most stringent conditins to cheat. more
