I do hope my comments are taken in right spirit, and not rejected out of ego. if someone wants to introduce surge pricing do so after filling up 50-70% seats, and after ascertaining there is huge demand really. This way railway can ensure their occupancy never falls below 70%. if un viability is an issue increase base fare by 10% straightaway. not justin rajdhani even in other superfast trains. follow this up with moderate revision of season tkts fare in suburban trains by 10% every 2 years. it will not send shockwaves.

Already the tocket of Rajdhani AC first class are much higher than the flight. It is further burden on the people n specially the senior citizens n patients who generally travel by train. GOD BLESS INDIA N OUR LAWMAKERS WHO SHOULD THINK POSITIVE NOT NEGATIVE LIKE THIS. more

DEar Shankar i think u are not living in India. Rajdhani/Duronto and Shatabdi are costliest trains in india. If u want to travel in economy class then u must prefer SL class in any other trains except Rajdhani/Duronto and Shatabdi. more

It's not a good way to increase railway income. Currently we have only one alternative to escape from weekend rise in bus fares. This is only option for lower and middle class families for their economy travel. They may deploy the system to normal trains also. We should not accept this. more
