There has been a definite improvement in the situation, but much more needs to be done. The first is participation of the public at large. At present only the municipal corporation's trucks do the rounds picking up garbage. The people are aloof to it. Most of them do not seem to have changed their habits of spitting, throwing garbage, urinating on the road etc. Could some prize winning competitions be held where apart from the ward or some designated areas, prizes are awarded to societies or even individuals. This would perhaps make the general public more involved. more
