Swachh Bharat Mission (Clean India) - Bottlenecks
1. Clean City, 2. Clean Rivers and water bodies, 3. Clean villages.
No where there is cleanliness.
Reason: lack of awareness, lethargy and corruption of the government officials and elected members of all i.e. central, state and local bodies.
What is needed:
1. Strictly implement the pollution control norms of the government of India and States regarding pollution by industries.
2. The ministry of urban development has to set the target of clean cities by a date and set out the standard of 1. water supply, sewage treatment, waste collection and processing.
3. The present system of waste collection and dumping the same in waste lands near villages spoiling the village atmosphere should be strictly banned.
4. The urban waste is the mail reason for pollution in cities and towns. The waste generated in each area i.e. ward should be processed there itself. There are several methods for processing waste .
i) Kitchen waste can be used to generate energy with the help of bio-digester or compost to convert in fertilizer. Many of items of dry waste can be creatively used like building materials and waste generated on demolishing of buildings can be creatively the used to regenerated as building materials. Plastic and other solid waste can be segregated and given to agencies who are using them for generating recycled products.
5. Strictly ban on production of plastic bags of any microns. Give incentives who create facilities to generate cloth/jute bags of various sizes.
Every city/township should have sewage treatment plants using latest technology and the government to see that the treated water is of good quality and can be used for watering plants or for irrigation.
Bottlenecks:
1. Waste collection and disposal: Presently a good lot of Mafia is working in association with the Local body official and elected members (MPs, MLAs, Councilers/Panchayat members in pocketing the huge money that is being used for collecting and disposing the waste. They never agree to do away with old practice of collecting the waste, transport the same to distant villages and thus spend a huge amount of money for collection and transportation.
2. Lack of knowledge of latest technologies available for Sewage Treatment Plants, and Bio-digester plants, incinerators and other gadgets available for processing various types of waste generated by the general public, bulk generators like hotels industries, clubs etc.
A concerted, dedicated effort with the force of Law by the Government of India and States to create a strong implementation team with the association of the people through the resident welfare associations can bring about change. and Swachh Bharat Mission (Clean India) can come true. Wish that it could be accomplished before Modiji's government complete its 5 years term otherwise it can never happen in India. - Jai Hind more
