I traveled from Howrah to Yeswantpur in dura to. The cleanliness and hygiene observed was quite satisfactory. Railway can adopt same practices for other trains as well. more
Mr. Pai is probably talking about the upper class bogies. This does not happen in sleeper class!! more
I happened to travel in Haridwar LTT AC express This journey gave me some experience based on this Ihave to appreciate as wellas give some suggestions to Railways First I would like to appreciate railway authorities for the efforts to keep the coaches clean The house keeping team used to collect trash and clean and fumigate the coaches at regular intervals This was a pleasant surprise However pest control is not upto the mark as cockroaches had a free run in the coaches alongwith rodents Authorities shall take a severe note of this Another point to be noted is the nonavailability of food and beverages in this train This train does not have pantry Train halts at Jhansi at 5.55am when most of the passengers are in sleep So they cannot collect anything for beakfast Next stop is at Bhopal at 10.35 which is neither time for breakfast nor lunch Next stop is at Bhusawal at 16.35pm which is wellpast lunch time In between the passengers have to go without food tea and even water Railways shall make some arrangement to get the authorised staff of registered caterers to board and sell food items water etc inthe train if they cannot provide pantry more
Swachhata in trains. I read somewhere that toilets in train were introduced in trains first in Bharat. The reason being long journey trains. We have a few more innovations in travel industry. Following items need care. Some audio-visual display may be there for imparting instructions. 1. Each toilet may have garbage bucket that should be cleaned at designated stations, which would dispose off at utility places. 2. Toilets should be western with jet. This makes use of lesser water and hygienic. 3. Plastic material basket must be a separate on. This again may be collected and dumped at some designated stations. 4. Every bogies need be repaired once in each month. We need not waitperson for two years. This practice was adopted by English people who probably hygienically aware and careful in handling the components of train. 5. All the protestors find it safe to burn and damage public property whether it is train, bus, offices and other public property. This should be taken seriously by directives of Supreme Court. This hardly happens with private property for obvious reasons. All this can happen in India only. Whether it is good or bad.
