Swachh Surveyor Caught taking Bribe

Swachh Surveyor caught taking Rs 1.7L bribe from Aurangabad civic body.
A member of the Quality Council of India's (QCI) team, on a visit to Aurangabad for the Swachh Bharat Mission Survey , was arrested late on Saturday night from a top hotel while accepting a bribe of Rs 1.7 lakh from a Deputy Commissioner of the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation. The bribe was for including the city in the top-20 list of the mission.
Even Swachh Bharat has become another avenue for corruption. Perhaps it is time now for Government to stop spending Tax payer's money on such Surveys and consider removing Swachh Bharat Cess. It will be more productive to create awareness on cleanliness.
As per photographs published in Times of India open defecation is taking place even now in Mumbai. more

This vacation senior school and college students can be given the proud duty of vigiliance in their respective areas. Photographs of the their area can be taken . Maybe they can get their pocket money into their accounts directly. What about the the lakhs of toilets constructed under this mission? Are they maintained properly? Youth of the country have to be mobilised to be part of this noble missions. more
Absolutely. The Swacch Bharat Mission seems to have lost. The roads in Secunderabad are back to square one. Sad to see papers, covers, along the road and stacking of garbage, wherever there is a small crevice. more
Our bureaucrats are most corrupt. How can you have corruption-less government? These were arrested but there are several not caught, so I fully agree with Mr. Mohitji. more
It's surprising to see the corruptions in this field also. Very same ful. It's true to focus more toward cleaning then doing survey. more
Do inside investigations to find out truth. Get all reports submitted by officials inspected by high level official in joint sitting. Retrospectively analyze cities awarded in the top 20. Conduct survey by local circles, administrators, citizen to find the change in city's cleanliness. Find black sheep in the system silently and punish firmly. more
